The Bushel basket market is doing profiles on vendors each week. This week is Deb Marks from Mark’s Farm and Greenhouse.

Deb Marks, of Mark’s Farms and Greenhouse, has been farming since she was a little girl. In 1974, she bought her own farm – the one she has now – while on her honeymoon.
“The deal came through and we just had to make a decision,” she said. So Deb and her husband decided to buy it then and there.
Deb now runs the farm with the help of her son, Ben. Located in Britton, they raise just about everything. In addition to commodity crops corn, soybeans and wheat, they grow vegetables, which they sell at the Bushel Basket Market on Wednesdays.
They’ve also started bringing beefalo to market.
Deb raises geese, sheep, chickens, and ducks, and hopes to start selling more meat products. They also have a miniature donkey, two miniature horses, and nine pigs that are currently living in a cousin’s barn because they ran out of room.
Mark’s Farm has a lot to offer and brings a great diversity of product to the Bushel Basket Market.
Be sure to check it out next time you’re in town
